This article proposes an interdisciplinary approach, exploring the connections between Law, Literature, and Criminology through the analysis of Jorge Amado's novel Capitães da Areia (Captains of the Sands). From a legal perspective, the paper will examine the legal issues raised in the novel, highlighting the relationship between social marginalization and the offenses committed by the characters. The criminological analysis will focus on the representation of young offenders, exploring the social and economic causes that lead them to a life of crime. Additionally, the literary approach will emphasize the novel's role in constructing a narrative that transcends the boundaries of fiction, contributing to reflections on society and its legal system. By integrating these disciplines, this article aims to shed light on the intersections between literary art, the legal system, and the understanding of criminality in contemporary society.
